Microids and Pendulo Studios presented the second dev diary today Alfred Hitchcock: Vertigo, which is expected to be released on PC on December 16, 2021. The game will also be released in 2022 on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X | S, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch.
This diary details the creative process of creating the theme song and the original soundtrack for the narrative game Alfred Hitchcock: Vertigo, inspired by the famous director’s film of the same name.
For Juan Miguel Martin, composer who has worked on previous Pendulo Studios games such as Runaway (2003) The Next Big Thing (2011), Yesterday (2012), Yesterday Origins (2016) and most recently Blacksad: Under the Skin in 2019 , it will be the sixth work done with the invaluable help of twelve talented musicians.
Through this new narrative experience, players will learn about tunes that will become familiar, and an attentive ear will recognize the work of Bernard Herrmann, from whom the game team drew inspiration. Composer who collaborated with Alfred Hitchcock on eight of his most famous films, including Vertigo (1956), North by Northwest (1957), Psycho (1960) and Birds (1963), among others films by renowned directors such as Citizen Kane by Orson Welles (1941) and Taxi Driver by Martin Scorsese (1976).
