The Steam store has updated the rules for publishing games for developers – now they can not post products in which it is possible to trade items using the blockchain and NFT, since in essence it is trading for real money.
One of these games was Age of Rust, the developer of which told about the new rule on Steam. The players are very happy such a decision (you must somehow bite the miners), but there is also a downside – such an exchange of goods bypasses bank costs and intermediaries, preventing them from profiting from the “air”. The developer sees the future in such games and will continue to promote his idea.
Community: A few minutes ago, we were notified that @Steam will be kicking *all blockchain games* off the platform, including Age of Rust, because NFTs have value. Behind the scenes, we’ve had good communication and have been upfront with Steam. #blockchaingames #NFT
