Along with the Trident Z5 DDR5 RAM kits announced last week, G.Skill will be bringing the Ripjaws S5 series DDR5 kits to market. A characteristic feature of these strips is their small height (33 mm), which, according to the vendor, makes them an optimal solution for compact systems or when using massive CPU coolers.
The G.Skill Ripjaws S5 line is represented by DDR5 kits of two 16 GB modules with an effective frequency from 4800 to 6000 MHz. The new products are characterized by timings 36-36-36-76 or 40-40-40-76, a black or white heat sink and support for XMP 3.0 overclocking profiles. A brief specification of the kits is shown in the table. They will go on sale next month.
Meanwhile, Galax has shared a DDR5-4800 (36-36-36-76) kit test in the AIDA64 Cache & Memory Benchmark. The RAM read speed reached 69 365 MB / s, writing – 68 413 MB / s, and the latency was 86.3 ns. The memory controller in the Intel Alder Lake-S processor was running at half the RAM frequency (i.e. in Gear2 mode).
