Starbreeze Studios held a 10th Anniversary Showcase for the Payday Co-op Shooter Series. During the broadcast, the developers showed the first concepts of the third part of Payday and talked a little about the game.
The main characters of the triquel will remain the characters of the previous parts: Dallas, Hoxton, Wolfe and Chains. They left criminal activity for a while, but then took up the old again.
Over the years that the main characters were resting, the world has changed. The game’s plot will revolve around modern themes: the dark web, cryptocurrencies, mass surveillance technologies and advanced gadgets.
Payday 3 takes place in New York again: the developers call the city huge and alive. Now it’s not just the police that pose a threat: the media is closely following the gang’s activities.
The developers do not specify exactly how this surveillance will affect the gameplay. Payday 3 does not have a release date either, but the game will definitely not appear before 2023.
