Sega Sammy published its annual integrated report, which presented the results of sales of the most important series from March 2020 to March 2021. And in it, in particular, indicated the total sales of large game series: 15 million for Person and 17.7 million for Megami Tensei.
As a reminder, in the case of SEGA, these numbers do not reflect solely game sales. They also include pachislot and pachinko machines, slot machines, toys, souvenirs and other assets.
The 2020 report indicated that it had sold approximately 13.1 million units belonging to the Persona series. Thus, from March 2020 to March 2021, sales totaled 1.9 million units.
At the same time, in May 2021, Sega Sammy announced that the releases Persona 4 Golden v Steam and Persona 5 Strikers led to the fact that from March 2020 to March 2021, 3 million units of the series were sold. The difference is probably what is included in the count.
As you know, the number of sold copies of Persona 4 Golden on Steam as of June 2021 reached a million copies. And by April 2021, 1.3 million copies of Persona 5 Strikers had been sold worldwide.
As for the Megami Tensei series, its sales increased by 300 thousand units compared to last year. This was influenced by downloads of a free mobile game Shin Megami Tensei: Liberation Dx2as well as release Shin Megami Tensei III: Nocturne HD Remaster… Even before its western release, 250,000 copies of the remaster were sold.
