The cast of the Oppenheimer project, which will be filmed by Christopher Nolan, is expected to be significantly replenished. The picture was joined by Robert Downey Jr. and Matt Damon. Their heroes have not yet been named, as is the case with some other project participants.
We remind you that the main storyline of the film will be built around some episodes of the biography of J. Robert Oppenheimer, the scientist who was at the head of the Manhattan Project, the result of which was the creation of the bomb. As previously reported, the film will be presented to the public in the summer of 2023.
The financing of the project this time will not be handled by Warner Bros., with which Nolan has successfully collaborated for many years. The relationship between the partners soured after the hybrid release scheme was implemented. Now funding is provided by Universal, which is also responsible for the worldwide distribution of the film.
In addition, Nolan is taking over the production functions with Emma Thomas and Charles Rowen of Atlas Entertainment. Note that the script is based on a Pulitzer Prize-winning book by Kai Byrd called American Prometheus: The Triumph and Tragedy of J. Robert Oppenheimer. Cillian Murphy got the key role.
