Red Dead Redemption 2 may receive an update to next-gen consoles, as rumors have surfaced. At the moment, Rockstar has announced that the upgrade to Xbox Series X | S and Playstation 5 will receive Grand Theft Auto V, and the much later Red Dead Redemption 2 game has not been announced for an update.
A screenshot of the updated controls for Red Dead Redemption 5 on the Playstation 5 controller has appeared online. This may indicate the development of an update, including for the Xbox Series X | S.

Note that the update of Grand Theft Auto V for Xbox Series X | S and Playstation 5 are due out in March 2022. There is no information about the approximate timing of the release of the Red Dead Redemption 2 update, if it is in development at all.
