Telegram channel @ProfPrivatBot on November 17 published internal document of PrivatBank, which announces the restructuring of the largest Ukrainian bank. The bank confirmed to us that the document was genuine and assured us that there would be no reductions.
PrivatBank changes internal management structure, but does not plan to dismiss 771 IT specialists – they will be transferred to new positions in other divisions
The decision, approved by the bank’s supervisory board, envisages changes in the organizational structure of the block of IT divisions and reduction of the bank’s staff. The changes are being implemented based on the results of an audit, which found that the current structure is very complex and diversified – the document deals with 60+ different departments in the CIO area and the isolation of IT departments. The new structure is designed to address the shortcomings identified by the audit, including the duplication of some functions, and to improve the interaction and exchange of information between departments, as well as to increase the efficiency of development processes.
The document calls for the elimination of several dozen departments in various areas in the four main departments (IT Management Directorate, Technology Directorate, Data Directorate and Information Technology Directorate) and the reduction of a total of 771 staff units.
At the same time, it is reported that the bank is creating new divisions, which will create new positions for employees of the liquidated divisions (appropriate changes will be introduced in the staffing schedule).
PrivatBank denied the information about the reduction of personnel in the field of IT and called such judgments regarding the dismissal of employees false. The bank clarified that they are changing the internal management structure to “best serve customers, meet the challenges of the time and work more flexibly and efficiently.” Today, the team of basic IT departments, excluding the digital banking team, employs more than 2,200 professionals. Unfortunately, the publication of one of the internal documents, without giving the appropriate context of organizational changes in the bank, is misleading and may lead to conclusions that are not true. “
