Marvel Cinematic Universe Hawkeye Jeremy Renner says the original Avengers group chat is still showing signs of life, and the actors maintain friendships outside of work.
The original Avengers, released in 2012, culminated in the first phase of the MCU, bringing together Iron Man, Captain America, Hulk, Thor, Black Widow and Hawkeye.
Interviewer Phase Zero jokingly asked Renner if he was competing with Chris Hemsworth and Mark Ruffalo to become “Sole Survivor” in the Avengers’ shrinking group chat. But, according to Renner, the chat does not even think to bend, since all the actors are still actively communicating. They remain fairly close friends, while they prefer not to talk about work, but increasingly share their experiences from their personal lives. “We’re talking about our kids and, you know, including divorces, marriages and building houses. We’re only talking about our things in life … It’s cool! Our friendship has always been very, very special,” Renner explained.
