There may be another Halo-related project in the works, besides Infinite, hitting all physical and digital shelves in just a few weeks.
This was revealed by the journalist Jez Corden, who has always been well informed about the facts concerning Microsoft and Xbox Game Studios, during the most recent episode of Rand’s “The Xbox Two” podcast at Thor 19. The editor of Windows Central was however rather vague, since he merely dropped the bomb without providing further insights. He simply reported that at the studios of 343 Industries there would be a new project related to Halo in the works.
The indiscretion, to tell the truth, it doesn’t surprise us that much, since a new Halo game is exactly what we expect from a studio that was founded in 2007 specifically to manage the legacy of the franchise and enrich it with new episodes. In recent years, in addition to the regular chapters of the saga – Halo 4, Halo 5: Guardians and the upcoming Infinite – 343 Industries has also worked on the Master Chief Collection and, in collaboration with other studios, on Halo Wars 2 and spin-offs mobile and arcade.
In conclusion, we take it for granted that there is a new game from the Halo franchise in the works. It remains only to understand the what and the when. In the meantime, we are focusing on the launch of Halo Infinite set for December 8 and the free multiplayer already available in Early Access.
