WhatsApp launched the first update for the WhatsApp app for the desktop and more specifically for Windows operating systems, thus reaching version 2.2145.3.0. The new update arrives with various bug fixes and stability improvements as well. However, in addition to these changes, behold, it also started asking for feedback from users.

Windows: WhatsApp for desktop arrives with many new features!

There are several new features in the new Desktop app. Some more visible and others not so much. Right from the start we have the fact that it is based on UWP. That’s how Microsoft wants all applications. Furthermore we now receive notifications when the app is closed.

The new desktop WhatsApp also supports multi-device which is undoubtedly great news. Thus, we will be able to use this application even if our smartphone is not connected to the Internet.

As for corrections, sometimes there were some problems in the scroll already resolved.

The new app can be downloaded from from here. Note that it’s beta but it’s still really worth it.

Despite all the news there are still things missing. The most important ones are status update, stickers, voice recording, dark mode and much more.

However this platform has been working on many new features in recent times. So there is another one that will show information about reactions. At least that’s what the well-known WhatsApp specialist site reveals. WaBetaInfo.

WhatsApp has one more news related to reactions

Information about reactions can be found under the All tab. That is, where all reactions are listed. In addition there is another one where it is possible to see which groups react to a message using a specific emoji.

Of course, this is all part of the reactions function that has been much in demand.

Over time, people have always asked Facebook to add reactions to WhatsApp. Now, you’ve heard this feedback. In fact, the green chat platform is already adding the function to Android and iOS and we can already see how it will work thanks to the site WaBetainfo.

As you can see in the screenshot above, this company has included a new option in the settings that lets you control whether we want notifications about reactions to messages we’ve sent. Interestingly this function arrived temporarily by mistake, but disappeared quite quickly.

According to leak, a message can have an infinite number of reactions. However we will be able to select any emoji from a selection panel. However, when the number is greater than 999, something like 999+ will appear. In the meantime people will be able to consult the full list of users who reacted to the message.

This novelty is still in a development stage and it is not known for sure when it will reach all users. However since it has already appeared in the Android beta version this is likely to happen faster than expected.

It remains for us now to wait for the arrival of these functions to WhatsApp.
