On November 30, Minecraft released a major update, Caves and Cliffs Part 2, which overhauled many game mechanics. Along with the update, new bugs appeared in the game – sometimes quite practical ones.
In particular, the players discovered that there was another way to defend against zombies. To escape from them, it is enough to plant azalea bushes.
In fact, the azalea bushes are very low, but this is enough for zombies: for some reason the walking dead cannot get over the plants. Zombies are also not trying to destroy an unexpected obstacle.
The protection will disappear when the azalea bush grows, but for this the player must process it with bone meal. If this is not done, then the azalea can forever protect the player from zombies; from it, for example, you can build nice hedges.
The unexpected protective properties of azaleas have already been reported to the developers. Most likely, the functionality of the bushes will be corrected in one of the next patches.
