Independent developers from 11 bit studios have announced a partnership with Epic Games. The studio that gave players Frostpunk and This War of Mine will switch to the advanced technologies and capabilities of the Unreal Engine. As part of this agreement, a number of ambitious games will be released, and the first among them will be the mysterious Project 8.
Imagination knows no boundaries, and now with Unreal Engine, our possibilities are also endless. The new 5th generation technology is impressive and we’re thrilled that we can make the most of it in our new games.
– said Przemyslav Marshal, CEO of 11 bit studios.
11 bit studios will retain their full independence. The agreement with Epic Games envisages the development of 10 large-scale projects that will be created on Unreal Engine 4 or Unreal Engine 5. An internal development team will be engaged in the creation of new games, and third-party studios will be involved to help them.
Detailed information on Project 8 should be expected in 2022. At the same time, 11 bit studios promises to share a more detailed plan for developing games on the Unreal Engine.
