GeForce RTX 40: They will arrive sooner than expected! – We are approaching the end of 2021, and as such, anyone who loves technology has already started to look ahead. In other words, new generations of products! Where it is clear, we have to include the ever-famous graphics cards, which unfortunately, in 2020 and 2021, were the rarest, and most irritating, products on the market.
Well, both NVIDIA and AMD are already in very advanced stages of developing their new generation graphics cards. So advanced, by all appearances, NVIDIA had to put a foot on the gas. This, in order not to let the rival reach the market first.
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 40: They’ll be arriving sooner than expected!
Therefore, according to the ‘leaker’ RetiredEngineer, NVIDIA has already started to prepare the launch of the new RTX 40, together with its partners. In other words, the launch may happen sooner than expected, who knows, even before the launch of AMD, which until now, was thought to be the most advanced of the two giants in this world.
Interestingly, there may even be a release of the RTX 40 at the same time that Ethereum will finally switch to its 2.0 version, changing the PoW mold for the PoS. So, with less demand in the mining world, and more product stock, we can finally see a successful launch here, capable of putting a smile on the face of enthusiasts and gamers in the PC world as well.
However, according to the new graphics cards, we know that we are going to have the Ada Lovelace architecture as the foundation, with all the GPUs coming off the TSMC lines of 5nm instead of the 8nm lines of Samsung. In other words, it is undeniable that NVIDIA had to come up with a big buck to get access to these lines, which could mean a significant increase in the recommended price of each new generation card. But that, it’s too early to know.
As for the performance itself, we are expecting an increase above 200%!
In the new generation, we will have the most powerful GPU (AD102) with 18432 CUDA processing cores at 2.5 GHz. That is, a very aggressive increase in the core count, as the current GPU GA102 (RTX 3090) has 10496 processing cores. Yes, the core count is not double in the new generation, but with the architectural improvements, and the move to 5nm, we will have a computational power of around 90 TFLOPs. It’s not even a joke.
Finally, as for the release date, there are no forecast dates yet, but I would point to the third quarter of 2022.
Besides, what do you think about all this? Looking for a graphics card? Maybe it’s a good idea to wait. Buying a card in 2021 is a nightmare, expensive, and apparently the new generation is right around the door. Please share your opinion with us in the comments below.
