ASRock has released Z690M-ITX / ax motherboard based on Intel Z690 system logic set. The novelty is designed to work with the twelfth generation Intel Core processors performed by the LGA 1700.

The board is made in the Mini-ITX form factor with dimensions of 170 × 170 mm. This makes it suitable for use in compact desktop computers with limited space inside the chassis.
There are two slots for DDR4-5000 + (OC) RAM modules with a total capacity of up to 64 GB. Drives can be connected to four SATA 3.0 ports. In addition, there are two Hyper M.2 connectors for 2280 PCIe 4.0 x4 solid-state modules.

The motherboard has a PCIe 5.0 x16 slot for a discrete graphics accelerator. No other expansion slots are provided.
The equipment includes the Realtek ALC897 7.1 audio codec, the Dragon RTL8125BG network controller of the 2.5 Gigabit LAN standard and the Intel I219V Gigabit LAN adapter. In addition, there is a combined Wi-Fi 6E / Bluetooth wireless module with support for the 6 GHz frequency range.

The interface unit contains HDMI and DisplayPort 1.4 connectors for connecting monitors, four USB 3.2 Gen2 ports, a USB 3.2 Gen2x2 Type-C connector, two USB 2.0 ports, two sockets for network cables, a set of audio jacks and connectors for connecting a Wi-Fi antenna.
