Electronic Arts has initiated numerous restructuring measures around its multiplayer shooter Battlefield 2042.
As a result of some restructuring measures by Electronic Arts with regard to the multiplayer shooter Battlefield 2042, there are also personnel changes.
Oskar Gabrielson, who previously acted as General Manager of DICE, is no longer part of the company and will devote himself to new challenges far away from Electronic Arts in the future.
While Respawns Vince Zampella is taking over the role of Battlefield franchise boss with immediate effect, the former Halo designer Marcus Letho is entrusted with the creation of a new development team in Seattle that will focus on the implementation of storytelling elements within the Battlefield universe.
Ripple Effect, developer of the portal mode of Battlefield 2042, will continue to deal with and support the shooter’s own build mode. In addition, the studio is now working on a new Battlefield experience within the Battlefield 2042 universe.
DICE, Ripple Effect, and the previously unnamed studio from Letho will work together to improve and expand Battlefield 2042 in the near future. Other Battlefield projects in development are intended to act as an extension of the current Battlefield universe.
EA did not give precise details on the projects in question. The company also left it open when these could be expected.
