The US Federal Trade Commission (FTC) has filed a lawsuit demanding a ban on the Nvidia-ARM merger.
Among the negative consequences of the deal, the FTC identified the undermining of the business of competitors, a decrease in the development of innovation and product quality, an increase in prices and a decrease in the choice of goods on the market. The acquisition will allow Nvidia to take possession of the confidential information of licensees who partnered with ARM. They are also competitors to Nvidia.
She will give one of the largest chip companies [прим. Nvidia] control over computing developments that competitors rely on.
Nvidia, in turn, said the deal would benefit the industry and increase competition.
