Reuters reports that Apple has notified at least nine employees of the US State Department of possible surveillance using Pegasus spyware, created by the Israeli NSO Group.
This is not the first time Apple has informed users that it could be monitored using the Pegasus. The company had previously notified the Polish prosecutor that its iPhone could have been compromised.
In turn, representatives of the NSO Group said that if necessary, the company will investigate and take legal action against clients who illegally use its tools.
Last month, Apple filed a lawsuit against the NSO Group to prosecute it for creating state-sponsored spyware. In addition, the company has begun to notify users if their iPhone has been jailbroken.
