Business Insider reportedthat Google is developing its own smartwatch, codenamed Rohan. This is the first attempt by the company to do something similar on its own, despite the fact that Google released Wear OS back in 2014 – a modification of Android specifically for smartwatches.
The device is expected to launch in 2022. The final title could well morph into the Pixel Watch.
The Rohan watch will receive a round, bezel-less display, as well as various sensors for sports and health tracking. The device will run on the Wear OS 3 operating system.
The media revealed that Rohan is being developed by the same team that makes Pixel smartphones. The Rohan watch is expected to serve as a showcase for the perfect tandem of Google software and the right hardware for third-party partners and users – similar to Pixel smartphones.
The price of the device is still unknown, but the watch will compete with the Apple Watch.
