Today became knownthat the court of appeal suspended the execution of the judgment in the case Apple against Epic Games – we are talking about lifting the ban on adding alternative payment systems to the App Store. Recall that back in September, companies were banned from restricting developers if they want to include external links and other purchase mechanisms outside the Apple store in their applications and metadata. The company filed an appeal, noting that alternative payment systems and external services could threaten consumer safety.
The appellate ruling said Apple’s statement “raised serious questions about the district court’s decision.” Now the case is awaiting a new trial.
