In a podcast, the “BioShock” inventor invalidates the rumors that he was involved in the fourth main offshoot. His new project was also mentioned.
In the latest episode of the Arcade Attack-Podcasts Ken Levine spoke on various subjects. Among other things, he commented on the rumors of a participation in the fourth “BioShock” offshoot.
Levine doesn’t do things by halves
The well-known developer assured once again that he was not involved in the development of “BioShock 4”: “I am not involved at all. I don’t want to do things by halves. I never want to be half in, half out. I wish you all the best. I basically know as much about the game as anyone else. And I’ll play it as a gamer when it comes out.“
After “BioShock 2”, this is the second offshoot from the series that Levine will skip. If we believe unofficial details, then an open world shooter awaits us next. An Antarctic city that you will explore in the 1960s will serve as the setting. The sequel may appear this year.
In the further course of the conversation, the new project of the “BioShock” inventor was also discussed. With regard to the pending announcement, he announced: “I think people will be surprised, but not surprised by what they see. To the same extent. But yeah, it’s … it’s very special, pretty interesting, and I’m looking forward to showing it to people.“
He also explains why the project has not yet been presented: “We didn’t want to show it too early because we thought it would come out sooner. And I didn’t want to have a long build-up, interest, and hype because it would feel pretty inauthentic.“

In the last few years the development has allegedly been restarted several times. So it could be a long time before we see the first game scenes.
