The rumors around the alleged new chapter of the series are intensifying more and more Twisted Metal, apparently arriving on PlayStation 5. According to the latest rumors circulated on the net, it seems that Sony, initially relying on Lucid Games (Destruction AllStars), has passed the reins of the project to Firesprite, its new first party studio.
In light of these rumors it is interesting to find out that Matt Southern, former game director for titles like Motorstorm e Driveclub of the now defunct Evolution Studios, is married starting this month in the ranks of Firesprite. We are talking about a creative with a lot of experience in the field of racing games, and this transfer would seem to support the thesis that the studio recently acquired by Sony may be working on Twisted Metal.
Previously, Lucid Games was rumored to be looking for new collaborators who could contribute to the development of an iconic triple-A title for PlayStation 5, to be released on the market as free-to-play. The most credible track led to the franchise conceived by David Jaffe, but it seems that the project has now passed into the hands of Firesprite, which also remains at work on Horizon Call of the Mountain, the first game announced for PlayStation VR 2. At the moment there is no it remains to wait for any news from Sony.
