Crytek demanded from the author of an amateur photo mode for remasters Crysis 2 and 3 remove it, threatening legal problems.
The developers considered that the project Fransa Bauma violates the firm’s policy related to remasters – it allegedly does not approve of the creation of mods for the updated trilogy of games and does not provide such agreements.
The author was asked to remove the photo mode from access within seven days, promising to turn to the legal side of the issue in case of refusal.
The creator of the mod was extremely surprised at this move from the developers, since his creation does not distribute game files in any way, but uses elements of the code he himself created. He noted that he created many similar mods for different games and always received support from the authors of the originals.
Baum announced that he would remove the mode in the remasters of Crysis 2 and 3, but promised never to create similar projects for Crytek games again.
