With the “Malstrom Protocol” a demanding mode awaits you in the endgame of the cooperative PvE shooter “Rainbow Six Extraction”, which should motivate you over a long period of time. Shortly before the shooter was released, Ubisoft presented the “Malstrom Protocol” to us in detail.
In the coming week, Ubisoft will release the cooperative PvE shooter “Rainbow Six Extraction” for the PlayStation 4 and the PlayStation 5, among others.
After the publisher had repeatedly promised in the past few months that “Rainbow Six Extraction” would be provided with a motivating endgame, the developers went into more detail shortly before the release of the shooter and presented the “Malstrom Protocol”. The “Maelstrom Protocol” awaits you in the endgame of Rainbow Six Extraction and is described as a crispier version of the core experience. The aim is to successfully complete nine goals in a row in a specific region.
To spice things up a bit, each round of the Malstom Protocol features a new mutation that will make life difficult for you and give you the opportunity to bag bonus XP. The mutations include a dense fog that makes it difficult for you to see, or more resistant opponents.
Increasing difficulty keeps the excitement high
Another peculiarity of the “Maelstrom Protocol” is the fact that after completing three objectives, the level of difficulty automatically increases, for example by providing less ammo, shorter time limits or fewer opportunities to refresh health. In this way, the developers want to keep the tension high in the long term. Another special feature of the endgame mode is the fact that you can only choose from a given selection of operators.
