Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman said that Apple considered releasing a HomePod with a built-in battery and even developed a prototype of the device a few years ago.
Unfortunately, Apple has abandoned the release of fully wireless speakers, tying all HomePod and HomePod mini users to an 18-20 watt constant power source.
Apparently, the company was unable to place a battery in the speaker case – it either affected the sound quality, or it simply did not have enough space, and Apple did not increase the dimensions of the device.
HomePod mini is not officially sold in Russia, but you can always buy a smart speaker, which will also act as a hub for a smart home on HomeKit, from our friends from #.
