Marvel movies usually have big budgets, and Guardians of the Galaxy is no exception. However, in a recent interview, James Gunn, the film’s director, admitted that if he had everything he wanted, the film would cost half a billion dollars:
Even if you have a big budget movie like Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is still not easy. You know, it was difficult to meet the budget because I wanted the film to cost half a billion dollars. If I had such an amount, it would allow me to realize what I had in mind for the film. It is so hard. You have to think about the budget all the time and make concessions for this reason, but often this leads to good results. Often you have to rethink something and come up with a creative solution.
Despite all the talk about the budget, Gunn has never said what he would spend the $500 million on. According to the latest reports, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 has a budget of around $200 million.
The premiere of the third part of “Guardians of the Galaxy” is scheduled for May 5, 2023.
