Canalys analysts estimate that shipments of personal computers and tablets in the US grew by 1% in 2021, and Apple remained the leader in tablet sales, although the company experienced some problems with the production of devices.
In just one year, U.S. tablet and computer sales totaled a whopping 135 million units. In the tablet segment, Apple remains the undisputed leader with more than 19 million devices sold. The company managed to achieve strong results even despite the fact that iPad shipments took up to nine weeks. Nevertheless, this is not the best result – in 2020, Apple shipped 17% more tablets.
Analysts note that overall demand for tablets has declined, with shipments down 31%.
The first place in the supply of PCs in the US is occupied by HP with a market share of 30%, while Apple is in fourth place with 10%. According to Canalys, desktops were the top-performing category, growing 9% in 2021.
