Marvel Studios is reportedly developing a reboot of the Daredevil series, which will be produced by Kevin Feige.
Ever since Netflix canceled Daredevil in 2018, viewers have wanted to see more of the Charlie Cox character. Those hopes were finally fulfilled in 2021 when he returned as Matt Murdock for a cameo in Spider-Man: No Way Home.
When it comes to the future of Daredevil in the MCU, many want to see Daredevil season 4 in it. Disney’s recent move to bring the first three seasons of Daredevil and the rest of former Marvel Netflix series to Disney+ opened the door for a potential series sequel. The chances of Charlie Cox returning to helm another Daredevil project have become even more likely after it was recently revealed that Disney had formed Blind Faith Productions LLC. This was followed by news that the project, starring the Devil of Hell’s Kitchen, could begin filming before the end of the year.
Now, Production Weekly has reported that Marvel Studios is indeed working on a Daredevil-centric project. This is a reboot of the Daredevil series, produced by Kevin Feige and Chris Gray, which is due out on Disney+.
This could mean that Disney and Marvel Studios are working quickly to get the series into production. The production listing does not list any actors, but Charlie Cox will return to play the role of Matt Murdock in any Daredevil project.
Details about Marvel’s plans for a Daredevil reboot are unsurprisingly sparse at the moment. However, the classification of the reboot indicates that the Netflix series is not considered by Marvel Studios as part of the MCU canon, and it will not be a continuation of the fourth season. However, that doesn’t mean other cast members from the previous three seasons of Daredevil won’t be returning alongside Charlie Cox. The Kingpin (Vincent D’Onofrio) is set to return after Hawkeye.
