Elden Ring players began to use Margit’s Shackles as a hidden passage detector, as well as to disable fire-breathing traps.
Redditor NateThePunk2 shared a video demonstrating that Margit’s Shackles don’t quite work as intended. It turns out that if you use them while being close to a hidden passage in the walls, it opens the way – the walls completely dissolve, as if they were not there.
Why this unique item works this way is not yet clear, but it certainly simplifies the process of finding hidden paths – players no longer have to torture every wall in the area.
But this is the only use of the item. As it turned out, with the help of Cadals, you can neutralize fire-breathing traps in dungeons from a distance – no need to risk your skin!
No one knows yet why and how this happens. One theory is that the item, intended to stun the boss, sends out invisible “shock” waves when activated. They may not be strong enough to damage others, but they do affect wall and trap triggers somehow.
