WhatsApp may soon introduce a new feature that will allow users to conduct surveys in groups. It is expected that it will appear in the final version in the coming weeks. The new feature is currently being tested on iOS, but may also come to Android.
According to WABetaInfo, Meta’s messaging app may soon add the ability to conduct polls in groups. By the way, polls are already present in other applications such as Twitter and Telegram.
The article states that the feature is currently being tested in WhatsApp 220.127.116.11 beta, which demonstrates that you can create a question and then add answer options. The number of options is limited to 12 pieces, and they can be arranged in any order. The polling feature was already in development, however, it wasn’t until the latest beta that we were able to see how development progressed.
It is currently unknown if these surveys will be available only to administrators or to all users. Perhaps WhatsApp could create group options to control and restrict who can create polls in groups. More details may appear in the coming weeks.
