In the near future, Microsoft will introduce a new generation of Surface Laptop Go, which is being developed under the code name Zuma. Rumor has it that the Surface Laptop Go 2 will get an updated processor from Intel and will be available in a new color scheme. Sales of new items should begin in the first half of the year.
release date
The Surface Laptop Go 2 hasn’t been officially announced, so the exact start dates for sales are still unknown. According to Windows Central, the device will ship around June 2022 unless plans change.
Most likely, the novelty will be available in the same countries as the first generation Surface Laptop Go, however, due to the lack of components in some regions, the device may appear later.
Cost and features
Windows Central says the base Surface Laptop Go 2 will start at $549, just like its predecessor. The cost of other configurations is also unlikely to change.
In terms of specs, the Surface Laptop Go 2 will feature an 11th Gen Intel Core i5 processor that will be used across all configurations. The base consumer model will likely still ship with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. But the base model for business customers may receive a 128 GB drive, although this information has not yet been confirmed.
Appearance
In appearance, the Surface Laptop Go 2 will be virtually indistinguishable from its predecessor. The laptop will still be equipped with a 12.4-inch screen, retain the same dimensions and a set of ports. It is not yet known if the keyboard will be backlit.
Microsoft is expected to introduce a new colorway for the Surface Laptop Go 2 called Sage, joining the existing Platinum, Ice Blue and Sandstone variants.
