A deal to develop a game for Xbox is said to still exist between Kojima and Xbox, despite current rumors.
Whether or not Sony has taken over the development studio behind Death Stranding is currently a question that players are keenly interested in.
The fact is that Sony recently renewed its banner for PlayStation Studios and now it features the game’s protagonist from the forge of Kojima Productions.
That actually only happens when you take over a new studio.
In the same breath, there is also the question of what about the alleged deal between Hideo Kojima and Xbox to develop a game for an existing brand. The rumor about it started last year.
Officially there is no information. However, insider and journalist Jeff Grubb currently claims in his premium podcast Grubbsnax that the deal between the two partners was in the works just a few weeks ago. His statement would also be based on current information. The matter is therefore still current, it is said.
It remains questionable whether this is still the case today in view of the possible takeover by Sony. Of course, Sony could still take over Kojima Productions.
