wandering mausoleums in Elden Ring – giant stone structures “traveling” through the expanses of the Interearth. With their help, the Extinguished One can duplicate the memories of optional and story bosses for later obtaining additional items from Enya, the reader of the Fingers in the Round Table Keep.
A small caveat: the Wandering and the Walking Mausoleum in Elden Ring are two extremes of the same entity, but according to the lore of the game, the term “Wandering” will be correct, so it will be mentioned in the article in the future.
The guide below will not only show you how to double the memories with the help of a monument located inside a walking fortress, but also demonstrated location of all “castles” in the open world of the game.
We also suggest that you familiarize yourself with a separate guide to all the memories of the bosses in Elden Ring —> Elden Ring: Memories of the bosses – how to get, use and double (here you can also find about awardswhich can be obtained from Enya in exchange for the received sacred relic).
How to lower the wandering mausoleum in Elden Ring
“Huge stone structures resembling turtles, whose footsteps roar hundreds of meters away, are living mausoleums for the deceased demigods, in which one can invoke the memories imprinted in the Tree of Erd.
If you get rid of the filth that struck the bodies of these giants, they will forever remain where they wandered before.
To stop the wandering mausoleumnecessary:
- get close to the walking fortress at close range;
- find him growths (they will be located either on the back or on the paws of a giant monster);
- destroy them (those on the back can be attacked with long-range weapons – such as a bow).
How to use the Wandering Mausoleum in Elden Ring
Wandering mausoleums allow the Extinct double memorieswhich are dropped by some of the optional bosses and the strongest demigods of Interearth.
To do this, the player needs to find one of the walking castles in the open world, destroy the filth surrounding his paws or back, get inside the stone fortress and go to the monument in the center of the room.
It is also worth noting that the game has TWO types of wandering mausoleums:
- wandering mausoleums with a bell – allow you to duplicate memories anyx bosses;
- wandering mausoleums without a bell – allow you to duplicate memories optional bosses (these include, for example, the Spirit of a majestic ancestor or the Mog of the Ruler of Blood).
The location of each of them will be discussed below.
Where to find mausoleums with a bell
#1 Wandering Mausoleum on the Weeping Peninsula, Zamogilye
This wandering mausoleum will be encountered by the future hero of Elden in the first hours of the game – while exploring the starting location of the Graveyard, weeping peninsulaand stumbling into a place of grace”Reclusive Trader’s Shack”, the player is unlikely to miss the huge stone paws of the first “castle”.
Unlike the following fortresses, this building will be particularly passive – it will not jump, stomp, or, for example, attack a novice traveler with magic projectiles.
No. 2 Wandering Mausoleum of Lukaria, Lake Liurnia,
The “second” walking fortress will roam the territory of Lake Liurnia, close to places of grace Raya Lukaria Crystal Tunnel and East Gate of Raya Lukaria.
Once between the “bonfires”, explore the eastern part of the “flooded” locations and find a steep terrain – from here even the fog will not prevent you from seeing the giant roots and paws of the wandering castle.
His growths will be located on his back – they can be destroyed with ranged weapons. However, we advise you to wait for the moment when the giant “monster” will pass next to the cliff. Once this happens, you can saddle your horse, jump onto the back of the monster and destroy the filth with melee weapons.
#3 Wandering mausoleum near Sol Castle Main Gate, Giant’s Peak
To duplicate memories at the “third” wandering mausoleum, the player will have to kill several story bosses and open the location The peaks of the giants with the help of the Secret Medallion of the Holy Tree and Rold’s Big Elevator. Once these conditions are met, seek out a place of grace.”Sol castle main gate“.
It is here, nearby, that a giant fortress will roam. Unlike the previously mentioned wandering mausoleums, the attacks of this “castle” will inflict much more damage – it is for this reason that in order to destroy the growths, you will have to act according to the tactics “hit / dodge” or “hit / run away”.
#4 The Wandering Mausoleum in the Renegade Ruins, Giants’ Peak
To search for the next wandering mausoleum, the Extinguished One will again have to return to the region referred to as “The peaks of the giants“.
Teleporting to the place of grace”Renegade Ruins» (northwest part of the area), turn right and ride your horse until you run into giant stone paws of a walking fortress.
Please note that the “castle” itself will be set up extremely hostile towards the character – the monster will not only try to trample the guest, but will also attack him magic projectiles. The growths, in turn, will be on the paws of the mausoleum.
#5 Wandering mausoleum at the Lower Deep Root, Nokron
The last wandering mausoleum with a bell will be located on the territory of the Lower Deep Root (place of grace “Nameless Eternal City“). Once next to the “bonfire”, go west until you come across dilapidated stone buildings, the roofs of which will hide the walking “monster”.
To lower the “lock”, the Extinguished One will have to climb onto its back with tall and thick rootssurrounding the area in question (or use a bow for a faster hit on the growths).
Where to find mausoleums without a bell
No. 6 Wandering mausoleum in the north of the territory of the mausoleum, Lake Liurnia
Start your journey from the place of grace”The territory of the mausoleum» (northeastern part of the Liurnia Lake region) and go north until you come across rocky slopes with dilapidated columns. It is here that one of the wandering mausoleums without a bell will be located.
To knock down the moving castle, the Extinguished One will have to wait for a powerful jump from the giant “monster”. Otherwise, it will deal high damage and possibly lead the character to a sudden unplanned death.
No. 7 Wandering mausoleum in the south of the territory of the mausoleum, Lake Liurnia
The path to the next wandering mausoleum will again lie through the place of grace “The territory of the mausoleum“. Only in this case, the Extinguished One will have to go in a southeast direction (if you navigate along the “Wandering Mausoleum ”, go due south).
Stumbling again on rocky slopes and a steep cliff, go down to approach the moving castle. However, here too get ready to jump from the side of the giant “monster”. Wait for it to do its spooky action before trying to lower it for memory duplication.
What to do if the wandering mausoleum is not working
Some players have experienced next problem – in the process of offering the memory to the monument of the wandering mausoleum, it was not duplicated.
The first thing to understand in this case is this is not a bug.
As mentioned earlier, in some walking fortresses, only certain boss memories can be doubled, namely:
- wandering mausoleums WITH BELLS under the belly double the relics of all the bosses of the game;
- wandering mausoleums WITHOUT BELLS under the belly double the relics OPTIONAL game bosses.
