After the unveiling of “Outriders: Worldslayer”, People Can Fly answered a few more questions and, among other things, made a statement about the potential playing time of the loot shooter expansion.
Yesterday evening, Square Enix and the development studio People Can Fly gave a first look at the “Worldslayer” expansion of the loot shooter “Outriders”. It will be released on June 30, 2022 for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PC and Google Stadia. We already had a detailed preview report here held ready for you.
Some more questions answered
However, the developers have compared to our esteemed colleagues from WCCFtech also answered questions in order to answer some further open questions. Among other things, they commented on the supposed playing time that “Worldslayer” will bring with it:
“As with the vanilla version of Outriders, it all depends on how you enjoy your content. Those who progress through the content more slowly will have more fun, especially if it takes two or more attempts at a fight. On average, we expect four to ten hours for the story. But then there are many more hours to spend in the endgame. The endgame also has some backstory elements if you want to know the full story and all.”
Furthermore, the developers were asked if they would have been interested in experiences with a larger number of players. Maybe they dealt with raids and other gaming experiences. In this regard, the following words were lost:
“The answer is no. I’d love to experiment with larger teams, but right now we’re focusing on three-player game balance, and that requires considering a few factors that we’re adding. I mean the new mods, the additional PAX trees, and from that perspective we want to stay focused on the three player experience right now. But again, that’s a point we’re writing in our notebooks and maybe we’ll take on that challenge in the future.”
