Relic, the developer behind the real-time strategy game Company of Heroes 3, has published a new development diary. It was dedicated to the work of artists and the creation of authenticity and believability in the game.
The team in the process of working on the product regularly turned to the documentary chronicle of the events of the Second World War, authoritative books and historical documents. Also, expert historians and experts on weapons and equipment of those times were involved in the game.
To get objects as close to the original as possible, the developers created a special “paper doll” system, thanks to which all objects in the game are created in a modular way.
Also in the video, they talked about the influence of the environment on equipment, revealed the details of the damage system and other information.
