The novelties are made in the M.2 2280 form factor. The PCIe 4.0 interface (NVMe 1.4 specification) is used for data exchange. The family includes four modifications – with a capacity of 512 GB, as well as 1, 2 and 4 TB. The drives are built on 112-layer 3D TLC NAND memory manufactured by Kioxia itself.
Unfortunately, the developer does not yet provide either speed indicators or IOPS values \u200b\u200b(input / output operations per second). At the same time, it talks about advanced security features. Implemented support for TCG Pyrite 2.01 and TCG Opal 2.01 standards. In addition, end-to-end security is mentioned to ensure data integrity.
Kioxia is already supplying samples of the XG8 series for customer evaluation. The cost has not yet been announced.
