The project was dedicated to the character El Muerto is a wrestler Juan Carlos with superpowers. He fought Spider in the ring and almost took the mask off the superhero. However, Carlos later teamed up with a friendly neighbor in the fight against his evil boss.
The studio announced that the main role in the film will be played by a rapper Bad Bunny – apparently, the tape was launched into development because of his interest in the project.

Muerto’s story will join other Sony spin-offs that lack Parker. It’s about Venom, Morbius, “Craven”tape about madam cobweb with Dakota Johnson etc.
However, the mentioned characters are still familiar to the audience – they have appeared more than once in comics and projects about the Spider, and the same Madame Web is known to many thanks to the 1994 animated series.
But El Muerto cannot be called an extremely famous character among all the opponents of Spider-Man. Therefore, the announcement extremely surprised and amused users, who wondered “Who is this anyway?” in almost all major network sites. And this applied not only to the character, but also to the personality of its performer.
