Subaru Solterra: the brand's first electric crossover - all-wheel drive, a range of 367 km and a price of $45,000

Subaru has revealed pricing for its first electric crossover, the Solterra. The starting price of an electric car, which already has all-wheel drive in the basic configuration (Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive system), starts at $44,995. The Limited and Touring trim levels start at $48,495 and $51,995, respectively. All versions come with an additional shipping fee of $1,225, further adding to the cost.

The first electric crossover Subaru Solterra received all-wheel drive, a range of 367 km and a price of $45,000.

The power of the electric motors on the front and rear axles reaches a total of 225 hp. The ground clearance is 21 cm. The basic equipment includes various driver assistance systems, including Grip Control, Downhill Assist Control, EyeSight technology, as well as Snow / Dirt and Deep Snow / Mid modes. Depending on the model, an infotainment system with a 7-, 8- or 12.3-inch display can be installed in the interior.

According to Subaru, the range of the Solterra electric car reaches 228 miles (about 367 km), and it takes less than one hour to recharge 80% of the battery capacity. The Limited and Touring trims offer some extra features like roof rails, wireless charging and a glass roof. But there is no way to increase the range of the car, which is offered by many other manufacturers.

Solterra is based on the same platform as the Toyota bZ4X, which starts at $42,000 for a front-wheel drive model. All-wheel drive costs $2,000 extra, which is still slightly cheaper than the Subaru model.
