Empire has released the first official still image of Natalie Portman as the God of Thunder in Thor: Love and Thunder, the new chapter in the Marvel saga directed by director Taika Waititi after Thor: Ragnarok.
A few days after the release of the first trailer for Thor: Love and Thunder, the director took the opportunity to reveal some details about the film’s plot and Jane Foster’s role.
“It’s been eight years, Jane’s had a different life, and all of a sudden the love of your life is back on stage and she’s dressed like you – it’s a crazy situation for Thor,” Waititi said, explaining the dynamic between the two characters.
In the new part, Thor decides to give up heroism and goes in search of peace of mind, but his resignation will be interrupted by the intergalactic villain Gorr the Killer of Gods.
The film will premiere July 6 in Europe and July 8 in the USA.
