Sharkmob has chosen to debut in the world of video games by launching immediately into the battle royale market, which in recent years has proved to be very lucrative, with Vampire The Masquerade Bloodhunt. Thus was born a free and rather fun game, but unfortunately not perfect. Let’s analyze it together.
Only released on PlayStation 5 and PC, Vampire The Masquerade Bloodhunt gives some importance to the narrative sector from the very first start, with an opening cinematic that takes players through a Prague in the throes of chaos due to the brutal confrontations that occur every night as darkness falls. Further details are revealed in the Elysium, a hub where you can accept and complete quests by interacting with NPCs belonging to the various factions.
The core of the gameplay however is a battle royale designed for 45 players, who are placed in the shoes of very agile vampires capable of climbing and overcoming any obstacle without great difficulty. The gunplay is distinctly arcade, while the hand-to-hand combat has been rebalanced compared to our first encounters with the game, although it still has some room for improvement.
The sore points are elsewhere, in particular in the management of the active and passive abilities of the Archetypes (the different classes of vampires) and of the progression system of the same, still too unbalanced. We have explored the matter in our review of Vampire The Masquerade Bloodhunt and in the Video Review attached at the beginning of the news.
