“Doctor Strange 2” had the second best start since the beginning of the pandemic

The film is second only to the latest Spider-Man.

Doctor Strange: Into the Multiverse of Madness is tentatively estimated at $450 million on its opening weekend, but could be even more. This means that the picture showed the second best start since the beginning of the pandemic.

Only Spider-Man: No Way Home had higher opening fees. According to Deadline’s calculations, Multiverse of Madness is only 17% behind No Way Home.

In the US, “Multiverse of Madness” earned about $185 million, with another $265 million given by foreign markets. The film has the highest box office in Korea, the UK, Mexico, Brazil, India and Australia.

In the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Multiverse of Madness is fourth, ahead of Avengers: Endgame, Avengers: Infinity War, and Spider-Man: No Way Home.

The total box office for the film for the entire period of rental has not yet been predicted – “Multiverse of Madness” has not yet been released in the Chinese market.
