Just as promised a few days ago, Ubisoft has unveiled all the news that will be introduced with the upcoming Season 9 of Tom Clancy’s The Division 2. The looter-shooter is preparing to welcome dal May 12 a new faction, new enemies, new missions and much more.
A new enemy emerges in Season 9: the new season continues the story of The Division and brings the agents back to the aftermath of their killing of a former Division commander turned traitor. A new target, the Captain Lewis, he’s out there and the Division must gather intelligence and face four high-ranking True Sons before they can face him. Season 9 is one of three seasons scheduled throughout the year.
New co-op mode for eight players: Countdown is an intense new co-op mode in which up to eight Division agents are sent to a power plant and have 15 minutes to stabilize the power plant and prevent a blockade. The agents, lined up in two teams of four, will start in different locations on the map and must work together to overcome the challenge. The Division will have to confront some familiar enemies and will have to fend them off to secure the facility, then request extraction before time runs out.
New feature – Expertise: Starting May 12, the Expertise feature offers players a new way to upgrade their gear with updates to core values such as damage, armor, and skill stats. Players can increase their experience by using any item in the game. Using more varied items means increasing their level. The experience also allows players to increase the base stats of each individual item and reach a new power limit.
New weapons and equipment: The new update will also include a variety of new items, including the Heartbreaker gear set, new exotic items, named items, and more. Additional rewards will be offered to players with the Season 9 Pass.
In “Secret alliance“, the official name of the new Season, the team also has changed the Manhunt to make it fully compatible with an episodic narrative system. Rather than exploring Washington’s 12-plus boroughs, the focus will be confined to a more limited area, which will give the opportunity to deliver smaller yet content-packed stories, thus avoiding annoying repetitions from season to season.
