Following the confirmation of Capcom’s record turnover for the fifth consecutive year, the Japanese company has also provided updated data on the sales of its flagship games, starting from Resident Evil Villagethe eighth installment of the historic horror series available from 7 May 2021.
More than 25 years after its birth, the Resident Evil continues to be very strong in commercial terms, and the most recent main episode confirms it once again: a year after its release, Resident Evil Village has hit 6.1 million copies soldnumber distributed among the platforms PlayStation, Xbox And PC. Considering that the game had reached 5.7 million units by the end of 2021, this means that an additional 400,000 copies were purchased during the first months of 2022.
This is an important success for Village, with the prospect of being able to expand even more in the near future. We recall among other things that Resident Evil Village will receive a DLC in the future, although at the moment everything is silent on the new content in development at the Capcom studios and it is not clear when they will be shown and published.
