Despite being released over a decade ago, The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim remains one of the most popular and accessible games out there. With versions spanning multiple generations of consoles, including a port on the Nintendo Switch, players have been able to enjoy Skyrim in a variety of ways and achieve a number of unique achievements in the game. Now, one player has managed to push the boundaries of game realism in an exciting new direction.
One of the more understated yet exciting aspects of Skyrim is its character creator. In the basic version, the editor can allow players to create impressive characters. However, mods have allowed players to get an extra layer of realism, as one player recently illustrated.
Reddit user AureliaRiddle showed off a cool image of herself and her father. Side-by-side comparisons show how detailed and realistic the characters are compared to their real-life counterparts.
The fact that she was able to recreate herself and her father in such a high level of detail is extremely impressive. Players have been pushing the boundaries of Skyrim in new creative directions for years, but many of the most common in-game features, like the game’s character creator, tend to be overlooked compared to all the crazy things players have managed to do in the game world.
It’s amazing that the popularity of the game has continued for so long. To the point where it continues to influence new players in unexpected ways. This is likely due to the recent release of Skyrim: Anniversary Edition, which not only added new in-game content, but also made mods more accessible to console players.
Regardless, it will be interesting to see what the future holds for the Elder Scrolls series. It’s been almost 1,500 days since The Elder Scrolls 6 was announced at E3 2018, and during that time, Bethesda hasn’t released much new information about the game’s development. With any luck, new details about TES 6 will be revealed in the coming months.
