Over the past few weeks you have surely heard of the Poppy Playtime case, the first-person horror game that can be downloaded for free on Steam. Who is Huggy Wuggythe monster that has terrified numerous children?
Huggy Wuggy is a puppet of humanoid plush who plays the role of villain in the game, or is that character who plays the parts of the villain on duty. What makes this monster scary is not so much its body, but its head, since it is characterized by one big mouth within which there are dozens and dozens of sharp teeth which, combined with the creature’s disturbing gaze, make it potentially dangerous for the little ones.
For the uninitiated, Huggy Wuggy is there Playtime Co. mascot, a toy manufacturer whose details have not been known for the past 10 years. The protagonist of the game, after having entered the abandoned toy factory due to receiving a mysterious videotape, also comes across the Huggy Wuggy puppet who, at least in appearance, is inanimate. The resolution of one of the puzzles, however, causes the electricity to fail and, as darkness falls, the big stuffed toy scatters. At this point, Huggy Wuggy begins to hunt down the protagonist, who has to move between the game’s settings trying in every way to escape from the monstrous figure. Apparently, Huggy Wuggy dies at the end of the first chapter of Poppy Playtime, but in the course of Chapter 2 of the survival horror we discover that the monster is still alive and has returned even more aggressive than before, given the presence of needles on his fingers.
In the course of the game we also discover that Huggy Wuggy was created in 1984 and it is likely that he is not the only puppet of this type. If the first monster, the one we see dying in Chapter 1, is referred to as Experiment 1-1-6-0what one encounters in Chapter 2 corresponds toExperiment 1-0-0-7. In short, it is likely that in the next chapter of the game we will discover more background on this frightening figure.
