Announced just a few weeks ago and scheduled for release this spring as a paid DLC, the collaboration between Ace Combat 7 and Top Gun Maverick suddenly disappeared from the official page, as well as social networks. Both the official Twitter accounts of Project Aces and Bandai Namco have mysteriously removed any mention of Ace Combat 7’s collaboration with Top Gun.
It’s not just the publisher and developer that’s affected, as the film’s official Japanese page also removed the ad from their site, redirecting readers to a 404 page.
Although there is no official announcement of the cancellation of the collaboration, it seems strange for both parties to remove any mention of the DLC, especially since it was only announced a couple of weeks ago.
For those who don’t know, the Top Gun collaboration was supposed to introduce a new paid DLC for Ace Combat 7 with the following content:
F/A-18E Super Hornet F-14A Tomcat Top Gun Themed Emblems Musical arrangement of Top Gun Anthem by Ace Combat composer Keiki Kobayashi.
