Warner Bros. Games announces a closed alpha for “Multiversus,” the new free-to-play platformer fighting game being developed by Player First Game that will pit an ever-growing roster of iconic characters from legendary universes against one another. The Closed Alpha will take place next week from May 19th through May 27th and will allow invited players to try out the latest content from “Multiversus”. The Alpha includes team-based 2v2 and a variety of popular characters and personalities such as Batman (DC), Shaggy (Scooby-Doo), Bugs Bunny (Looney Tunes) and Arya Stark (Game of Thrones).
The Closed Alpha will be available on PlayStation 4/5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and PC with full crossplay and will also feature a rollback netcode based on dedicated servers to ensure smooth online competition care for. Players can now sign up at Multiversus.com Register for a chance to participate in the Closed Alpha. Registration does not guarantee access, as places are limited.
In addition, a new “Multiversus” video will be released today, pitting two members of the Player First Games development team against two players from the professional fighting game (FGC) community. Tony Huynh (Game Director, Player First Games) and Daniel Kraft (Principal Developer, Player First Games) took on Tyrell “NAKAT” Coleman and James “VoiD” Makekau-Tyson in a best-of-three series of 2v2 mode of the game. The match also provided a first look at the Scooby’s Haunted House map, which will be available during the Closed Alpha.

Also, today it is announced that there will be a “Multiversus” 2 vs. 2 tournament at the Evolution Championship Series 2022 aka Evo, one of the largest and longest running fighting games events in the world. Evo will be held August 5-7 at the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada
“Multiversus” will be released for PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 consoles, Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One consoles and on PC.
