Finally, the physical dimensions of Socket SP6 match the more compact Socket SP3 (58.5 x 75.4 mm), while Socket SP5 measures 76 x 80 mm. In terms of the number of pins of the LGA type, Socket SP6 is located in the middle between SP3 and SP5, since it assumes the presence of 4844 contact pads on the processor. Apparently, Socket SP6 will be used to create server systems with a higher density than Socket SP5. The new connector can also be useful for processors from the AMD Ryzen Threadripper family.
