Studio INSANE announced the imminent start of the first testing of their “A TRUE SANDBOX MMORPG” (so they say) Profane. Their official Discord server has already begun accepting questionnaires, according to which testers will be selected.
The developers warned in advance that testers would receive an unfinished assembly with limited functionality. Character creation, basic attacks and moves will be available. But other features aren’t ready yet, even the familiar ones like inventory management or equipment equipping.
According to the creators, this will be a very rough test of the basic mechanics of combat and movement. Therefore, those who expect something more are better off skipping it and not taking the place of those who really want to help the project at an early stage.
At the release, the developers promise an open dynamic world full of adventures, building houses, conquering territories and unique combat mechanics based on the complete absence of classes as such. That is, the player will build a build based on their own preferences. As practice shows, statements about “free build-building” come down only to marketing slogans, but in reality the vast majority of players quickly find the “meta” and play only through it. Time will tell. If, of course, the game comes out.
