In the last week Netflix announced that the series “Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness”, which will start on July 8th, will revolve around the character Albert Wesker. With two new trailers we get an impression of the upcoming horror series:
The first trailer introduces Billie and Jade, Albert Wesker’s children. We see the family moving to New Raccoon City in 2022. Therefore, there will be a time jump to the future, namely the T-Virus broke out in the lore of the “Resident Evil” franchise in the year 2036. That’s exactly where the second trailer jumps. We see that through the Umbrella Corporation indebted origin of the pandemic, with the attempted marketing of the drug or “Joys”, which can be described as a “miracle drug”.
Another story explained the reason the series is coming so soon after the movie Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City. These went into production almost at the same time in order to meet the fans’ desire for a direct adaptation of the games on a larger scale. The series and film are each based on the first two “Resident Evil” games.
